The Beatles were musicians and songwriters. Elvis was a performer.

According to Priscilla Presley, When The Beatles met Elvis Presley they sat two on his left and two at his side. They kept staring at Elvis because they were starstruck. Elvis got weirded out and told them "Hey guys, if all we're gonna do is sit here then I'm just gonna go to bed. You don't want to play music or something?" The Beatles sat up and were amazed that, that was even an option. They played music together. Later in the evening, John Lennon cornered Elvis Presley and asked him why he stopped doing live shows. This apparently struck Elvis' pride. Which prompted Elvis to later make his comeback with the 1968 comeback special.

The Beatles worshipped Elvis.

There's a rumour that there is an audio tape of a jamming session with the Beatles and Elvis when they met at Elvis's house. What was Elvis talking about anyway, the Beatles loved America, especially Lennon.

I think he had a beef with Lennon because when the Beatles and Elvis met in 1965, Lennon supposedly told Elvis to “stop making those shitty movies and make music again” or something like “when are you going to stop making those shitty movies and start recording good music again?” . Something along those lines. Knowing Lennon’s articulate history, I wouldn’t put it past him. I can’t remember where I read about this exchange (I’ve read so much stuff about the Beatles), but this is what supposedly Lennon said to Elvis. I’m sure this stepped on Elvis’ toes, but it made him think because not too long after he did quit making those “shitty” movies and went back to recording better music and performing live.

'Hey Jude' was a studio recording by Elvis in '69. The others were live or jam recordings. On stage, Elvis would often introduce 'Yesterday' or 'Something' by saying: "From The Beatles songbook ..." Regardless of what they freely thought of each other individually, we do know that they admired each other musically.

According to Marty Lacker one of the Memphis Mafia ho was closest to Elvis, Elvis was only telling Nixon what he thought he wanted to hear so he could get the Federal narcotics badge from him. Elvis was into collecting police badges and the Federal Narc Badge was "The King" of all badges to Elvis. It would also allow him to carry a concealed firearm in all 50 states. According to Lacker, Elvis liked the Beatles and many of their songs but had a special affinity for McCartney's songs. He was never threatened by them and only used Nixon's hatred for them to get his coveted badge from him.

Shame Elvis hadn't come to the UK, when all that time the Beatles were in USA he would have been adopted.

The fact that the huge hit songs that Beatles had were written by them must have galled Elvis, who couldn't write songs himself.

Odd - Elvis sent a “Well Wishes” directly to the Beatles the day of their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show.

Sinatra didn't like Elvis either because Elvis turned out to be his replacement, just like the Beatles were Elvis's replacement.

The Beatles for a few years made Elvis completely irrelevant until his comeback concert in 1968. I'm sure Elvis harbored a deep resentment.
