A fan animatic based on a part in Chapter 15 of "Ruin and Rising" by Leigh Bardugo!

Note: The way I drew the characters are more based on how I imagined them the first time I read the series, not how they're represented in the Netflix show! But I would like to in the future draw them as they are in the show if I do more animatics from the series.

It's pretty ironic how the music is calm and peaceful but the scene is horrendous. It just shows how the Darkling is a monster who always acts like a gentleman and how can a calm, almost passive moment be full of ruthless and disturbance.

I think that the Darkling killed Ana Kuya because she was "the closest thing Alina had to a mother"
Because his own mother yeeted herself off like a cliff or something recently, and we wanted, he needed Aline to feel how he felt.

This was one my favorite scenes in the entire series, you can feel Alinas horror and the sheer emotion in the scene is overpowering. I don't think I could've torn my eyes from the page is someone paid me. So... I am so glad that you made this and especially how calm and collect you made the Darkling. Good Job, I applaud you.
