Foreign Secretary Liz Truss insists the UK 'does welcome refugees' and the government is looking 'urgently' at what more the country can do, despite reports that Ukrainians are finding it hard to come to Britain.

And describing the situation on the ground in Ukraine, Ms Truss said there had not been any "overnight significant changes", "but we are seeing very, very strong and brave Ukrainian resistance".

There is no way this situation can de-escalate without Putin being removed from power and held accountable for war crimes.

Only if the soldiers and people of Russia turn on their leader and remove him, will this stop.

As horrific as things are, this interview is appreciative to reveal how serious things are instead of BS narrative.

I almost fell out of my chair when she said the UK welcomes refuges

I wonder how much of that immensely brave and loyal President comes from being a comedian instead of a politician, i.e. working and living in the real world? What a leader he has shown himself to be.

The situation we see in Europe regarding to oil and natural gas supplies being interrupted is a clear example of why alternative energy sources need to be utilized. The dependency on fossil fuels dictates how countries react when situations like this occur and fear of loosing oil and gas should not dictate how a country reacts to murder and tyranny.

This conflict in Ukraine will not only redefine that nation but also Russia and much of Europe. How a nation responds to this crisis tells that people who they really are. Those who are willing to absorb the short term economic pain in exchange for a more secure future will also reap the benefits of a refreshed national identity.

A part of me feels sorry for the clueless Russian soldiers (as apparent from troops stating they do not know where they are going on some videos) who are being thrown into this mess ..this is not their war! Do they really want to experience hand to hand combat in the streets of Kiev with a young mother defending her nation? The Russian people never asked for this war, only the Kleptocratic regime of Putin asked for it so that they could continue to steal from the Russian and they hope Ukrainian, Belarusian people for years to come. The Russian people need to rise up! The Russian soldiers need to arrest their generals and senior officers and walk back to a New, Peaceful and Prosperous Russia. Regime change is coming to Moscow, Minsk & Grozny!

This guy does not let off the gas with the questions. Refreshing to see questions most sane citizens would ask instead of fluff questions.

That secretary is my kind of woman. Strong, beautiful, and no nonsense. I wish she were our president of USA.

As a UK citizen I don't mind paying twice as much for Bread in order to secure freedom and Democracy, if that's what it takes. Much rather that than having to face what the Ukrainians are going through right now.

The way she delivered that answer on the last question is absolutely right. The economic sacrifices that EU and other parts of the country might face is nothing compare to what's happening in people of Ukraine. Putin won't stop at nothing, in his mind if he can overthrow Ukraine then what about the other neighboring countries.

I did not know who ms. Truss was until now, but I like her a lot! So no-nonsense and straight to the point. Quite refreshing for a politician.

According to the book "All the Countries We’ve Ever Invaded: And the Few We Never Got Round To", there are only 22 countries Britain never invaded throughout history. There aren't many gaps on the map, but some of the more notable include Sweden, Belarus and Vatican City.

Lesson: All of these sanctions should have been employed many years ago. Never legitamize a dictator and murderer.
