I first saw this in the mid 90s as a kid. Story was great, fight choreography I thought was great, and the soundtrack is phenomenal 🥋

I seen this movie so many times l have it memorized l really feel sorry for the Angela girl in the music video she was just trying to make it and was so sweet and even tried helping out Laura so she wouldn’t get hurt Laura should’ve threw her a bone and helped her improve her career beside her music being kinda tacky (well it was the 80s ) she was talented and very very sweet l wish she did more in her career after all she didn’t want Leroy or Laura to get hurt on her account l love this movie it reminds me so much of my dad he was a 3rd degree black belt and l remember watching him do a lot of these martial art techniques in this film when l was a kid RIP DADDY 👼

There are certain places in this movie where Vanity’s acting was actually really, really good. Lousy script to work with and the movie is obviously outrageous (but also awesome), but she put together certain mannerisms where she really shined. Seems like she had the potential to become a much bigger movie star, but that cocaine… it’s a hell of a drug.

I wish she and so many others had had better friends back then. I’m not religious, but she sure seemed to find her own light in the second half of her life. So at least there’s that.
