In the second part of this example we will calculate the fracture section capacity. First, we will see how to determine the correction factor using clause 7.3.2 when none configuration in the table represents an I-beam connected by both flanges. Next, we will see how to determine the possible fracture patterns and the process to choose the most critical in order to calculate the net area. Concluding, we will calculate the fracture capacity and compare it to the design capacity to determine the section capacity.
