HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield) who, in Okinawa at the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without carrying a gun. Believing that the War was just, but that killing was nevertheless wrong, he was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon. As an army medic Doss single-handedly evacuated the wounded near enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. He was the first conscientious objector to ever be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour.

A fabulous movie all the more amazing as it is true. I am not a fan of war movies but I loved this and cannot recommend it enough to anyone firstly as a great movie but also showing what true faith and love can achieve. It is simply mind blowing!
