In this episode, Stephen revels in looking at several restored Ford County tractors. A real passion and labour of love for all the guys who've brough them back to life.

We also take a visit to Rhual Dairy in North Wales on the first of this year's Farmart Magazine reader events.

Want to come to the next one? It's a behind the scenes tour at Huntapac Vegetable packing factory on Tuesday 13th May.

Job of the week on The Farmart Magazine jobs board is for a Beef Farm Manager in the West Midlands. Working on a 1,000 head beef farm with the chance for great training and development, this will be an ideal role for someone wanting to progress their career in livestock management.
Take a look at the full job details here:

It's fantastic that people restore these machines for future generations to appreciate, they look beautiful and bring back so many fond memories.

After all these years I still love a county, have spent 1000s of hrs piloting various county's but for me a 1174 is the pinnacle lovely to see.

Fair play to the guy with the county's, if I had the money I'd probably do the same and spend it on some I'd enjoy doing

Spent one winter (72/73) on my college sandwich placement ploughing with a County 1004, draughty Duncan cab and Lemken 4 furrow reversible.
Life since has seen a move to Canada and I’m surprised how many Counties are here, many in Manitoba. A neighbour has found and repatriated some.

Some really smart Counties there, the fella was quite cagey about what else he had, probably rightly so aswell.

Lot better than the biased broadcasting companies version

I'd save the short nose 1474 as it's a rarer tractor than an 1174 County. But all the tractors look fantastic when restored. Forest work was sadly the death of many fine old classics over the years.

Those county restores are mint credit to the owner.

Oh dear, oh dear. They are not and never have been 'Ford' County tractors. They were built using Ford skid units and Ford were quite happy to let County and other companies like them, Roadless, Muir Hill, etc create and deal with the 4wd market but, when Ford started producing their own, that was the demise of all of the companies that had created the market for them.
