Literature is one of my passions and The Iliad is one of my favorite books/poems to study. The Odyssey, The Eaneid and the portuguese epic poem "Os Lusíadas", all of these epics came from it. I can't wait to play this game, to see the wrath of Achilles and actually play as him. Good job guys!

From what I have seen, troy might have the best campaign mechanics ever in a total war. But we still need the battle improvements.

Make the city of troy a bastion to take. Decorate the city, give it a 20 heavy units garrison. And make an end event where 10-30 stacks of greek armies invade troy.

I notice that the game lacks armour piercing missiles due to the time period. I noticed that you tried to use javelins to fulfill this role but they are thrown too far for realism (based on trailers I saw they were throwing 100meters) Normally crossbows or firearms fulfill this role but they did not exist right?... actually the Greeks had the Belly Bow which was supposed to be invented in 400bc. I know that’s still 700 years of difference but it’s not that much of a stretch. Also you could even have footbow units were people lied down and pulled their bows like a crossbow but without a trigger. Anyways just some ideas for armour piercing missiles for future dlc.

I feel like I am going to spend way to long on figuring out who to play as which is not a bad thing it’s great that they implemented so much variety

I really love the Ui and the sort of vase drawing going on the campaign map. Im a huge fan of incorporating and trying to capture a period of history or myth like this. Im also happy to see that the faction variation, since Warhammer days have been more common in the other Total War games of historic or Saga. The different lords on this side all looks interesting. Besides Oddyseus my next favourite character has to be Hector. So probably play him first on the side of Troy. Aeneas also looks very interesting with his gods/talk to old heroes mechanic. I really enjoy Greek mythology so thats a bonus. Oh and pls add Hades as a god at some point, I know his worship was not as spread out or large as many of the others but while it existed I think it could be interesting anyway since hes the lord of the earth, underworld and things like copper, and gold could be tied to him (also in regards to the idea of putting coins on dead people to pay to cross styx) and of course something about buffs or mechanics tied to death in battles and such. Maybe Hephaestus is meant to take that part when he arrives but hes the god of blacksmiths and there could be a big difference if you say introduce a blacksmithing mechanic to the game or tie it to experience or something. :)

I really like the way you guys did the Paris and Helen campaign. That actually looks like a lot of fun and it's something different for Total War.

Ok but can we get faction colours for battles? The red/green for enemy/your units is so boring
