Greenland's Prime Minister reaction to Donald Trump and how Greelanders feel about King of Denmark

Greenland Prime Minister Múte Egede addressed comments made Donald Trump about the northern island, calling for united amongst Greenland's residents.

While many Greenlanders want independence, a member of Denmark's Parliament from Greeland said the newly crowned Danish King Freerick X remains popular on the island controlled by Denmark, although Greenland is now a semi-sovereign territory.

If it were to declare independence, it would require a referendum. During his first term, Trump's offer to buy Greenland in 2019 was rejected by Denmark.

To all the king-related comments: The king of Denmark doesn't "rule" or oppress anyone. He cannot vote, he cannot give any political opinions, he can't even smoke, since that would set a bad example. He is just a remnant of past history and sets a tone for decency and trust. You know, in a country where people can leave their babies outside in strollers. And he creates a united country no matter your politcal opinion. Prime ministers come and go, but the queen / king stays. In these times, it's a balm to hear the king's new year speech year after year, no matter what turbulence is going on.

Greenland receives most of its imports from Denmark, sells most of its exports to Denmark, receives most of its financial support from Denmark at €600mill a year and additional EU funds. For 50k ppl! Free healthcare and free education

Ok. Here's to the Americans that found out about Denmark this week. JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE A ROYAL FAMILY, DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY CONTROL ANYTHING IN OUR COUNTRY. They serve more as a sort of mascot for our country. We love Greenland with all of our hearts. Like you would with a close relative. We truly wish the best for Greenland, and we believe that the US ownership of Greenland would do them any good. Greenland will always have the choice to leave Denmark and be completely independent, but they choose to stay because they'd collapse without Denmark. The US might have the money to keep their economy alive, but they're already in great world debt.

The king of Denmark, newly crowned, as you show, and his parents before him, can't be faulted for neglecting Greenland; inded quite the opposite. The King himself spend half a year as a young soldier guarding the north of Greenland, sleeping in a tenth and travelling with dogs and sledges1

Its like watching a well written action-mystery-conspiracy movie but with real-life consequences!
