How this old wreck rescued my Ferrari and saved me from a massive bill!

I'd been struggling with a strange misfire since I rebuilt the engine on the InfluEnzo. My only option seemed to be to buy new ignition parts to try and solve the problem.. then this old Ferrari 308 came to the rescue and allowed me to swap parts and diagnose the problem for free!

Congratulations on the carb discovery and fair play to you for admitting the mistake. It happens to all of us. On the Weber carbs the running from off-idle to 3000 rpm is handled by the idle jets (yes I know it sounds counter-intuitive). The jet options from the factory are wrong for present times because modern fuels are not as potent as they were back then. This normally necessitates larger jets for proper running. After extensive testing with O2 sensors in the exhaust I have found 53 idle jets to work best. They are a little harder to find but they are just that bit crisper on acceleration to the 55 jets and the 50's tend to be too lean.

When you're done and finished with the influenzo you're going to be the leading 308 guy in the UK 🤌🏻😎😄

I’ve never actually cheered out loud for a youtuber but I’m so glad it’s finally fixed! Well done mate!

Congratulations mate. The joy of finally finding the issue is much sweeter because of the hardships along the way.

Wow Jack, finally good news. That wasn't an easy one, mow some fine tunning and will be spot on. Now it sounds nice. Some people say they are slow, but they are still faster than most of the cars around.

I'm pleased you fixed this yourself and didn't take the easy option like you suggested in your previous video (of taking it to Harry's garage) - I had every confidence in you that you'd solve this all by yourself and your smile says it all. Well done to you and your new moustache!

'I got quite excited when I came out of McDonalds because it looked like the Influenzo had been stolen!' haha!

Fixing your car was like climbing a steep mountain. Painful while you are at it, so rewarding to enjoy the view at the top.
Well done.

Good on you Jack. Great to hear her run up to 7000 revs. To me, it sounded fantastic.. Hope you will keep your 308. They really are a work of art.

Excellent news! Your persistence is paying off. Plus you have a very nice friend to allow you to dissemble and borrow engine parts off his own 308.
