I fixed my always looking for tools by having multiple sets in different shops/vehicles. Saves more time than it cost.

Well dougo I to have that issue of not finding stuff even when I put it back where it goes lol 😂, old timers I guess. Dougo rule of thumb is the Equipment needs to run 20 minutes to recharge the energy used from batteries to start the Equipment hope that makes sense. Watch you guys every time

Sometimes with an 86 and 66 series internationals you need to rev them to 3/4 ish throttle to get the alternators to charge just watch your amp gauge and it should jump hopefully that helps duggo

Dougo, 1086 alternator. Thats a delco gm alternator and thats what they do. After it warms up a minute you have to rev the engine enough to get excitation in it. Then it will charge even at idle

Doug ever since my two boys have grown up and left the nest zero amount of time looking for items before that time maybe 15 to 20 hours a week and that would be a good week a bad week and my brain explodes!...

Dougo - A loose or rusted or corroded ground battery cable can cause an alternator not to charge intermittently like after first starting up.

that 1086 might have a 3 wire alternator, at least ours did and when the voltage regulator or something went out we changed it to a 2 wire alternator

You guys should use apple tags on the pieces of equipment that come up missing the most.
