The 77kWh Renault Twizy Range Extender!

Our latest challenge is delivering a Renault Twizy all the way to Cambridge, about 60 miles from London.

Doesn't sound like much of a problem, but with barely 40 miles of real-world range, fast roads, and no suitable 3-pin public chargers, we resort to using the V2L capabilities of our Hyundai IONIQ 5 to give the small Twizy a couple of top ups in an effort to make the journey without having to hire a trailer.

Converters from Type 2 to 3-pin are available. Certainly for Schuko, but it would be surprising if they were not available for UK 3-pin also. Or one could use a UK til Shuko adapter, making sure it is capable of the amperage.

V2L is one of those features the nerd in me would really like to have but would probably never use! Although it would be handy to keep the TV going in the event of a power cut !
