Is HARBOR FREIGHT's $20 AIRBRUSH any good?

Within this airbrush review, we are taking a look at an inexpensive double action airbrush by central pneumatic sold by Harbor Freight. At $20 usd ($16 with a coupon), this siphon fed airbrush is cheap and pretty decent for the price. Within this review I'll go over everything I'd want to know about an airbrush before purchasing one including how well it sprays/atomizes paint, the build quality, and whether or not it's worth the price. Thanks for watching!

I have one of these and I love it. I use it a lot and no problems with it over the last almost 5 years I have had it.

After watching this video I have decided to buy this airbrush. I've always wanted to try airbrushing but was a little hesitant to spend a lot for the Iwata that was recommended to me by a friend. I'll buy this one to try it out. If I like it I'll get the Iwata eventually.

Thanks for the review and the still life demo. I noticed four or five other tools that you use besides the airbrush... an eraser and a pencil and was that a Dremel with some kind of Eraser tip or a white paint marker of some sort and finally what was that towards the end which had a boxy shape and the marks you were making where light before it appeared like you were using a clear coat afterwards? Do you have any videos that show me how to paint stills like this and learn about shading and Lighting in this way?

Very nicely done. I picked up one of these, but haven’t used it yet. My intention, as you commented, was to use it for clear coat. Thanks.

I bought a couple of those harbor freight compressor+airbrush deals - but all I needed was the compressors - so the air-brushes have sat on the shelf for 10 years, still in the original wrappers! Today I needed to do some airbrushing and did some "How To" videos - without problems - so it's good to hear that I inadvertently got a good deal.

Seems like a decent airbrush - like a cross between a Badger, a Revell and/or a Paasche.

I've had an expensive airbrush from new have leaks around the aircap. Required some bees wax around the seal and threads.

Don't forget the Paasche double action brushes, I've the Millennium (I use the H and MIL for clear coats, base coats, primers etc) they're coat effective, robust, easy to clean (relative to type), they'll last for years (just get one with fairly decent plating etc to start with). Decent work horses on a budget and come with chunky parts easier for a beginner to handle during clean up✌️😊👍

What kind of compressor would be good for this sprayer?

Every single part forward of the blue anodized tail cone is a dead on knock off of a Badger 150. A pretty decent airbrush even now. It should be good!

Best review I've seen, thanks, seems to be same unit as the 'Mastercraft'.

I am not an artist at all but do laser engrave glass and using a thinned tempera paint about 50% on the glass is what you need, getting an even coat of paint with tempera is essential. So this might be the ticket for me. Thanks for the review!😁🛫

I some one gave me this brush, I would give it away, but keep the wall hanger. I had a Badger 100 that came with that same hanger. I still use the hanger but gave the airbrush to my granddaughter.

This seems to be a pretty standard design for airbrushes in that price range. My dad gave me his old one he's had for years, he never used it. Clarke airtool was the brand.
I did wonder about the little screw by the trigger, but it seemed to me like it would make it into a "single action", the instructions were kinda vague. the handle on my model is closed so no quick acces to the needle.

Thanks for the review. And also thanks for the reply to my top coat question.
I can't seem to reply to community comments on my tab only on a pc.

I have 2 and I have really really enjoyed them I airbrush on the daily so far 6 months and I have had very few issues ok for detail but not the best but who buys a 20$ gun for detail work I have used enamel paints I have use water based acrylic paint I have use the decant method used spray paint and I have put a lot of nail polish threw them in just recommend not doing nail polish and acrylics tho takes a lot of cleaning to work properly is you switch often. One or the other tho and it’s perfect

I have this airbrush and I'm new to airbrushing. Like it so far but only one problem. Recently bent the needle and can't figure out what needle I need to replace it. I know it needs 0.35 mm needle but does it need that little ball point in the end or can it be any 0.35 mm needle?
