Everyone deserves to hear this.

There is some bleed-over, but this is from the LA Woman album, which was recorded with live takes, so that's just the way it is.

Ray Manzarek and Richard Wright - for me, these two draw some of the most smooth, sexy and elegant keyboard lines in the history of rock.

I always found the Doors to be very hypnotizing. Don't get me wrong, I love the contributions of every member (Jim's daunting yet seductive voice, John's perfect beat and catchy rhythm, Robby's fantastic flamenco among other great styles)! But, I could listen to Ray's solos for hours. All elements (Drums, Voice, Guitar, Organ/Piano) put together meshed so perfectly, but the Doors would not have had enough magic to ride on without Ray. At least, that's how I feel. Shame about their disputes, too.

"You have to be open to the energy. If you can open your heart to the energy, that great love energy, of this entire universe, good things will happen to you. BUT, you've gotta believe. You've gotta believe in the goodness." - Ray Manzarek

Possibly the finest piece of pure jazz/rock I've ever heard

LA Woman is one of the best rock albums ever, between 30 first of them. For me is the number one and is the qquintessential Rock and perfect example of the magic of Music as art. Great songs, incredible singing, beautiful soloing, superb drumming. It is a milestone in Rock music.

There wouldn't have been a rock band called the doors if there hadn't been a man named Ray Manzarek.
The doors was his brain child.
It took his vision & organization skills Plus Morrison's poetry & persona
to come up with all the rest that made the doors legendary.

One of my favourite musicians ever. I hope he knew that he wasn't in Jim's shadow and we saw his talents.

Thanks Warner Music Group for not pulling the video even though it matched 3rd party content.. very cool of them, everyone deserves to be able to hear it.

I was 20 when LA Woman was released. I was already a big doors fan. This song changed my outlook on life like no other. Am still haunted by it to this day..

This mix in .5 speed has saved me 44 years of frustration learning the riffs and  the harmonic digression Ray D. Manzarek does in the middle. I now have it as part of me... and its fun to play....

He is so underated as a composer ! Ray Manzarek's sound is what truly gave The Doors their mysterious haunting sound. Yeah.

I have been a fan of The Doors from ever since their first album came out. "Riders on the Storm" happens to be my favorite piece by The Doors. I have listened to several versions of this song and I find that this version with Ray isolated on the keyboards to be the best. I should mention that back in the 60 while I was still in high school when "Riders..." came out I had a high frequency hearing lost with both ears so I did not realize there were alot of very high notes. Eventually I lost all of my hearing in both ears. Now I have bi-lateral cochlear implants. A few months ago the two external processors were upgraded for the forth time and with each upgrade the sound quality has gotten better. My current processors are bluetooth compatable and I have an audio transmitter that I can plug into a headphone jack. Needless to say the sound quality of this version is unbelievable as I can hear the crisp sounds of all of the lows to the highest highs.

Absolutely phenomenal. Nothing flashy, just slow, tasteful blues and a memorable solo.

Sweet.... The Rhodes is one of the best sounding artifact in the world

That keyboard was as epic in rock as Jim's voice. What Ray painted on the keyboard was soul catharsis.
