Install an IDE directly onto the Raspberry Pi so that we can write C programs using a graphical user interface.

Thanks. As many of us want to use c for physical computing on the pi to escape the silly abstraction of schmython and guis, it's worth mentioning that c can be written perfectly easily in any plain text editor and compiled/debugged in terminal using gcc.

Geany's really great but the last time I tried to use it, I could not debug my app. Also if we compile a GUI app, we need a GUI editor to define our GTK windows/dialogs.

Hey, really nice video. I would just like to ask whether is it possible to build any collaborative plain text editor using cluster of Raspberry Pi 2; the kind of editor which will work without having an internet access, I mean what should be done in order to make it possible. I'm a beginner in this field and I would really like to build something interesting. Also that way I wish could build a distributed computing platform like an Amazon EC2 :p

i now have the raspberry pi3 with jessie. several of the opencv articles recommend using virtualenv and wrappers. how would you install geany in the virtual environment? thanks
