This Ask The Owner video is just answering the questions I normally ask other people. I love my 2007 Porsche Cayman, and I wish I could've seen more first person videos from owners when I was getting mine.

ALL OF THIS IS SO TRUE. I bought my Cayman S in September. Its an 07 with 58k on the clock in immaculate condition. Its the most awesome car you could possibly imagine. The balance is amazing, the handling (as long as you don't overcook it in the wet) is perfectly matched to the structure of the car, and its a DRIVERS car. Nothing flash, just an awesome sports car, Matt

I'm hoping to one day get a cayman.
I'm a massive Porsche fan but i'm not one of those purists who says only the 911 is a true Porsche, i actually prefer the cayman.

I agree, a 30min test drive was enough to get me hooked as well. Such great cars! And very practical. It's my daily.
Enjoy!

I bought my 986 a two years ago. It's a 2003 and had 20, 300 miles, five speed. I drive it everyday! It really was the best choice for what I wanted. I paid $17, 000 for it. It is the most versatile car ever; mine is very practical and the two trunks are awesome, plus that flat six power and growl. I now have 51, 000 miles on it and have enjoyed them all. Once you drive a Porsche, I definitely think you understand the appeal. I do my own work, oil change costs me 30 mins and maybe $75 for oil and filter. They are easy to work on and uncomplicated to understand. Really enjoy your channel. Keep shifting, man!

Congratulations to the Cayman! Really great car with a tremendous handling and awesome engine sound. Lucky you that you found an affordable Cayman. They tend to get rare or pricy during the last year. At least here in Germany.

Thanks for the video. You've had it for quite a while now, do you still love it? What are the maintenance costs?

Almost a full year with my 987.2 and I love it. Saved up since I was 12, bought at 24!

I want a Cayman, but the IMS bearing issue is holding me back. That's one of the reasons that the pre 2009 models are so cheap. If the bearing goes bad, the cost to fix the blown motor can be astronomical. As far as the oil change goes….pull the plug, swap the filter, put the plug back and fill it up with oil. It's just like any other car. cost is about $30.00.

Welcome to German engineering, just had a friend (in Ann Arbor) who has had Honda's, Nissan's, Chrysler's, etc and she just got a 2011 MB C280 and she's blown away, going to get another one, maybe a E class soon

I had an slk 280 before the cayman, and I can say that I didn't miss the convertible. But that could be because I didn't care much for the slk. As for the manual, I had the manual on cayman and it was amazing, but when I test drove the 13 cayman, I loved the PDK more. Plus I was living in Atlanta at the time, and dealing with that traffic, an automatic is great.
