The partitioning method of multiplication is a basic skill for the soon-to-be-introduced expansion method of solving future algebraic expressions in higher levels.
The skill strengthens students ability to recall and apply the skill they have learned on placing the digits of a number in their right place of value on the place value chart. In that same strand, each number value is used to multiply the given digit sequentially after which the outcomes are summed up to produce the final result of the multiplication exercise.
