the citric acid peels and the vaseline provides an emollient base - the combined effort is pretty fast and quite good but if you have had dry cracked heels for a while, sanitize your shoes properly to get rid of potential reinfection from fungus. Putting Vaseline on one's heels at night has been around for decades and the way we used to do it was to put a pair of cotton socks on after rubbing the vaseline on. It worked like a charm. I've never mixed it with lemon juice tho, and to have to rub it in for 10 minutes is too long for me, lol. However, I will try it with the lemon and perhaps rub it in for a few minutes to see how it works. Thanks!

Thx for the great tip! ONE CORRECTION tho. 🤓. The greasy substance you use on the heel is PETROLEUM JELLY.
Vaseline is the Company name. Vaseline lotion, Vaseline shampoo etc.👍🏼✌️

I'm sure this has good results but I am not a fan of the petroleum based vaseline. I started hiking a few months ago and started to get calloused feet. Here's something you can try that worked for me. I soaked my feet for 15 minutes in epsom salt, then pumiced and rubbed in castor oil. In three daily repetitions I was back to my normal feet. No chemicals.

If you can't find vaseline where you live I recommend using coconut oil, I mix coconut oil and lemon and it does the same thing to help my heels!
