Brownfield is a really interesting term in this context. It's super common in the construction industry. If you're going to a brand new site where they're constructing new buildings and installing new piping and equipment then it's "greenfield." If you're going to an operating plant it's "brownfield."
It's neat that Jensen is applying this terminology to software.
