A safety for solo females:

A couple weeks ago I went to Seattle to see The Foo Fighters concert at the baseball stadium. After it ended, at 11pm (and I was alone because my best friend got sick right before we were to leave on the trip) and I needed an Uber to get to my hotel by Pike Place Market so the opposite end of downtown Seattle. Uber/Lyft was like 15 minute wait, plus with the added congestion leaving from parking garages and parking lots, I decided to start walking towards my hotel since I would be in a giant mass of people. After like 5-6 blocks the mass of people started trickling down so I checked to see where the nearest NICE hotel was and it was only a couple more blocks. So I requested my Uber from the Four Seasons where its well lit and has a nightshift valet out front so I felt safe waiting for my Uber.

Houston FA wife here. I’ve done a lot of “hit or miss” with items to travel and it’s very nice to watch your videos so I don’t waste unnecessary $$ on items that don’t work. So thank you for that!! My FA husband is a fitness enthusiast so he eats a lot… I mean A lot lol. The hack I found for him is buying $1 sponges, soak them in soap water, cut them up in small portions, freeze them & then he takes a few in a ziplock bag to clean out his containers once he’s in his hotel room.

I agree with the wear your heavy coat & carry a bag. I use a cloth bag in my pocket & then on the plane put your coat in the cloth bag & now it’s a pillow.

I usually put my toothbrush into one of the hotel paper cups, but they can be tippy, this idea of poking a hole and turning upside down is so smart!

If you don't want to add detergent to your liquids bag, you can also get a pack of 40-50 dry laundry soap sheets meant for backpackers - the container is about the size of a tic-tac box. BTW, I LOVE that sweater on you! It really makes your personality pop.

Another thing when packing your liquids in the little plastic bag, as well as packing the tubes horizontally, pack them lid-to-end - alternate them so they nest together snugly. You can fit even more in 😊

Love, love, love your channel and the way you present the info! Several years ago I was told that if you cut a thin piece of cardboard and wrap it in aluminum foil, you can stick it in your wallet (or anywhere you want RFID protection). I was dubious so I contacted American Express and they said it absolutely works. For those who don't want to or can't afford to buy RFID wallets, etc, this is a great hack.

I have painted on our luggage for years using stencils and puffy paint from JOANN fabrics. I paint on all sides. I make each piece match as close as I can. It is easy to see when they are on the conveyor belt!

A Tide pen is handy, but I've also used Shout stain remover wipes to save space in my liquids bag

I use a bright colored zip tie instead of a scarf, so it takes up less space and is less likely to snag on the conveyor belt

When you said bright colored carry on bag, that also goes for charging cords, pillow cases, etc....they stand out in the motel room and you know those are YOURS>

In addition to putting a fragile glass container in shoes I would put it into plastic bag before putting it in the socks and shoe. That way if it breaks the glass is contained.

Lately I've used a stretchy suitcase cover and it's a game changer for easily spotting my checked luggage. And they're washable! They also serve as a tamper deterrent.

you can use thick balloons as bottle covers instead of buying the ones specifically made for that. Hello $1 Tree hack! xoxo

I used to use the hotel shampoo for hand washing but now I bring the laundry sheets cut into small pieces. It's compressed detergent that instantly dissolves in water, no plastic and also fragrance-free. The brand that I ordered on line was Earth Zero Plastic, recommended by a friend. It works great! And now I see that my local grocery store is selling similar products in the detergent aisle. I also use them in apartment washers in Europe, esp. in France. The French love heavily scented products and I have super-sensitive skin so these are a life-saver for me and good for the environment as well.

Here's a hack I just tumbled to. I've been planning my packing for the 4, 000 km trip to visit my Mum, and as usual, struggling to fit a fall wardrobe into a carry on. I realized by summer travel fabric tank maxi dress can be rolled up smaller than any pajamas or nighties I own. So, that will be what I sleep in. Mum is a casual dresser and I don't usually need a dress when I visit, but if I do, I can pair the tank dress with a light jacket. Dual-duty items are the best for travel. Flats that can be dressy shoes and hotel room slippers, dresses that can also be slept in, bandanas that can be used as a valet tray, a sun protection when walking by the sea, or an emergency face covering when there is smoke.

One hack that has helped me traveling between a cold/hot climate. Lands' End and LL Bean make short jackets and vests that fold down into it's own pockets. So when I leave home in the cold morning I layer a short sleeved shirt under a light hoodie/sweater and wear the jacket on the plane. Once seated, I pack it up and put it in my personal bag. Then, on the return trip, I unpack it after we land in the airport, before I go outside.
Another weird hack I use is to wrap my favorite shower cap around my brush and comb and secure it with an extra hair tie. It keeps my brush bristles from getting squashed

Awesome travel tips! The twisting of headbands for your wrists when washing your face floored me! I have tons of those stretchy headbands. Now, I have a new way of using them😃 Thanks!

I bought toothpaste tablets and shampoo/conditioner bars to cut down on liquids. I also got some bamboo towlettes the size of a nickel that expand when wet, as well as packets of deodorant wipes. And don't forget a small flashlight or booklight. My luggage is an obnoxious Barbie pink. 😊

I found packing a second charging/power bank and have it charging while I'm out and about, saves me one spot on my charging outlet.... I charge something on it in the evening while other things are charging on the adaptor when I get back. A small power bank doesn't take up a lot of room and can really come in handy when there are lots things to charge. Just an idea that has worked for me.
