They did Anne Marie the same with MG Rover in 2005 with regards to tricking the British consortium to handing over the rights to their best selling models the 25/ZR and 75/ZT of which the Chinese pulled out from the agreement and threatened the car company in the West Midlands that they'd sue if production continued over those models. People assume the car manufacturer went under for mismanagement and not appealing well to buyer's, however in the years the British Consortium of five individuals ran the brand from 2000-05 after buying the Rover brand from BMW for £10. The company did have a loss making balance sheet, however despite some ill decisions made they did manage to eliminate their deficit by 80% in those five years, however needed a cash injection to launch their new stunning models including a new super charged MG sports car and Rover 75 coupé. They asked the UK government for a loan but it refused, however the government under Blair then introduced them to the Chinese.

They did the deal charming the British Consortium over a 5 star meal and endless alcohol whilst not touching a drop. They agreed to buy a stake into the business with continued production in the UK (or so everyone thought). Overnight the first installment was paid after signing the agreement, of which actually meant the car designs for the models I mentioned were signed away of which they then pulled out from paying the second installment and threatened legal action.

6500 jobs were lost over night alongside 10, 000s of supply chains effected. Big tragedy and an utter sham after the Chinese renamed the models and produced them in China.
