I have a service brother who just got his Pilot "Wings of Gold" and is now on Advanced Helicopter ("Helo") training in Whiting Field. I gotta say I'm very proud of him and hope to see him in the Fleet soon as I anticipate going to OCS and flight school myself. Hooyah, Fly Navy!

I have goals to go to the US Naval Academy, graduate, and then head on to the aviation field if it will not be changed by then. I someday hope I can reach those skies for more than 20 years of service in the military!

Great Video - SH-60B crewman from 87-98 - loved all my "sticks" (pilots)... was quite a period of change: bringing in female pilots/aircrew, the "end" of ASW, and transitioning to much more time in "The Gulf"... also VERY proud of my brothers and sisters who were still there through the various iterations of "Enduring Freedom" and beyond - and the return of ASW.

Is it possible to join the U.S. Navy as a helicopter pilot if you're not an American citizen? I am currently in flight school in Europe, and I can't imagine a place I'd rather work than in the U.S. Navy!

This is misleading advertising. Because the problem is you don’t really get to choose. After you go through flight school successfully the Navy is going to give you what they want you to fly. Could be helicopters, could be jets, could be other fixed wing aircraft. There’s no guarantee you’re going to get your desired aircraft. More than likely you will not.

I've read that the cutoff to be a pilot is 28 or is this all bs? because I'm 27 and I want to enlist be a naval pilot
