Remember, they are only voting yes because Jax TOLD them to vote yes and explained why it had to happen. He told the other club presidents that he would make sure SAMCRO voted the right way to protect the organization, instead of him getting away with killing another president and the entire club fracturing apart. They know they have to vote yes, so even though it's hard for them, they know it's the only decision they can make. Voting no would probably mean Jax gets killed anyway, and then SAMCRO would get voted out of the Sons as a charter and the whole thing would go to shit. So while it's painful it's probably not as hard as it would be in other situations. And of course if they had spontaneously been asked to vote they would all have voted no, damn the consequences. But luckily Jax knew he could trust Chibs.

outside of opie dying, his funeral & tara’s murder, this rt here was prolly one hardest moments to watch on the whole show. glad chibs is prez tho. jax, piney, bobby, clay & opie, his nephew that got killed in belfast & even JT himself wouldve been proud of chibs.

When I played football in the late 90s, my coach called me Mr Mayhem. Every time they had a Mayhem vote on SOA, i would get a text or call from some of my old team mates.

I think it's not just grief the guys are feeling here but guilt, SAMCRO encouraged and enabled Jax to go on a rampage after Tara's death and the destruction and bloodshed it caused is what ended his life, they all share some of the blame of what happened to him.

I love Chibs. He stood by Jax all through the seasons, even when Opie turned on Jax and went on about Clay. He was distraught, when he voted to give Jax the Mr Mayhem vote, and so was Rat Boy.
