Dude the lore here is insane and actually connects to the episode: This is the same James who bullied Charlie on his birthday, and Tyler is the 5th Smiling Friend that got fired in the next episode. James probably had a bad experience with Tyler prior, which is why he wanted helped from another employee, and the reason the Boss fired Tyler.
