Wondering what to bring on your Fall Camino? I'm sharing all the gear I carried with me along the Camino Frances. I traveled from September 12 - October 19, 2019 along the French Way starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and managed to stay (mostly) free of blisters, bed bugs, and serious injury. Each pilgrim has different needs and levels of comfort, and the time of year in which you travel plays a significant part in determining what to bring. But with hours of research, trial and error, and training, I carried the perfect gear for my own journey to Santiago de Compostela.

Thank you very much for your video, "Gear Review for Camino Frances (Sept/Oct 2019) | What's in My Pack | Camino de Santiago", it is very useful to me since I will be doing the route at the same time as you have done. I loved all the videos, excellent work, marking the path for those of us who come behind.
Thank you again, God bless you and Good Way in life.!!!

This is perfect - exactly what I was looking for. So many folks post without stating the time of year they walked. So helpful in terms of what to pack for staying warm at this time of year (while I know temperatures and weather can change from year to year). Thank you!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful and helpful videos!! I’m going to walk 9 days of the Camino Frances next year May, from Ponferrada, hoping to one day do the whole thing! I’ve started putting together some gear, as I literally can’t wait to start! Your sleeping system at first sounded a bit weird to me, but I ended up purchasing the exact same liner, and a light comforter, tried it out today at home and it’s bliss! I hate the idea of being in a tight cocoon like a sleeping bag, but this setup gives me some much space to move around! Thank you so much for that brilliant idea!!! Also for all the other advice, it’s been very helpful!!! Hugs from Germany!

Thank you for the gear review video! I always wondered what pilgrims would have changed in regards to packing, post Camino. You answered in detail. Great video as always. Excited to see your next great adventure. 👟🎒

Thanks for the great video! My first camino was from Sarria, my next will be from St. Jean, a much longer distance, so important to plan wisely!🚶‍♀️💜😊

Another great vid!

And OMG, I would have had so much anxiety if I was trying to film a video and then needed to grab breakfast and a bus!

Loved it! I was about to cry with old couple who drove you from Zubiri to Pamplona. I'm not done with videos yet but I was curious about the gear review. Thanks and cheers from CR.

Wow, that’s a lot of stuff to carry. I’m a guy with a history of back issues and hope to keep my load to 15lbs or less when I eventually go.

Very good video - your preparation for the trip shows in how you used everything and didn't bring stuff that only saw the bottom of your pack. We'll have to watch it again as we get closer to our own Camino. The book of intentions was a very nice (and thoughtful) touch!

I have enjoyed watching your videos. I watched your prep and now this one solidifies everything for me. I'm still not done watching all the days of your camino but I will continue now.

Thanks for the list and information! I'm preparing to tale my family on the camino this year.
Question on your S hook, would you say a smaller sized one would work or is it best to go for a bigger one like the one you show?

Well done, Rachelle! I was supposed to start my CF on 20 April 2020, but that didn't happen... Now that Spain has reopened to Americans I'm looking to start the exact same date as you (12 September) in 2021, so the info about bugs, weather/rain, etc. is perfect for me! Just keeping my eye on the latest Delta variant in hopes that it doesn't wreak too much havoc in Spain. P.S. My late wife was Filipina, and I know all about Vicks Vapo-Rub as a cure-all for whatever ails you!
