Well the new version, is him when he was younger and care free, the old version is him literally about to get executed and was at death doors thanks to the illness he had, so yeah I think both will be very different depending what he was going through

The only difference is that the old portrayals of Roger were still very mysterious while with time we got to know how he really was and actually resembles Luffy a lot
