I believe video quality is better on the A7iii as it’s downsampling 6K to 4K (if you shoot 24fps) compared to 5K to 4K on the A7riii.

If you shoot 30fps on the A7iii then it crops slightly (1.2x?) and only downsamples from 5K to 4K (like the A7riii).

I do appreciate the smaller RAW files for quicker post-processing and storage. However, if you use APS-C mode to get a 50% focal range bump then the A7iii crops to 10mp which may not be enough for some people (compared to 24mp on A7rii and A7riii).

I’ve shot more video over the past few days and the AF is way better than the A7rii which would miss focus, hunt, or drop when tracking. A very well-rounded camera for hybrid shooters.

I'm facing that exact same question right now, I used a 7rii so far and am thinking about an upgrade to a9ii (vs a7r iv) which also has less mp but a better low-light and AF performance. So regarding the "fear of 24mp", your video was really helpful for me, I think I might go with the a9ii. Thanks a lot!

Currently selling my A7rii for the reasons you just mentioned. I’m picking up a 2nd A7iii for the type of work that I do. The auto focus adds to the image quality in the end. I shoot for what I want and don’t usually crop in and if I do the 24mp is so good that I can still do what I need in post. Great video!

Hi...Is "Lock On Focus" better with the a7III? I find it extremely difficult to achieve a SHARP image of my dog (running quickly) with my a7rIII. The percentage of good shots in a burst is very low.

What do you mean by the a7riii having focus breathing problems? That's entirely dependant on the lens. Or did you mean that it has to hunt to find focus?

Yeah, not everyone needs 42mp. However, real world AF is about equivalent between the A7III and A7RIII. Also fyi... Focus breathing isn't what you think it is. It's a thing lenses do. The A7RII has inferior AF that's for sure, but perhaps your settings weren't ideal? I used it just fine for personal videos.

How does he have such a quality at 1080p when I shoot 1080p it looks like 480... with my a6000 its still a 24mp sensor

You keep on talking about real world examples but you are not showing anything, contrary to the other youtubers that review the a7iii most of them said the af on both is almost the same and not distinguishable , it's seems like you are just in the a73 hype right now.
