My teacher has 3 steps. Writre the problem down, think really hard, write the answer.

Hey I would add another step to this for really complex problems: Try to work with groups of "easier" or simular problems. A lot of problems seem complex only because 1: You're not used to a specific way of understanding or thinking about something and or 2: You are thinking about too many seemingly unrelated variables within a family of problems which only work to confuse you. Working with simplified versions of the problem and understanding the way the different variables work within those simplified problems work to both help you get closer to the correct way of thinking you have to be doing to connect the answer to the problem and also help you understand how problems with fewer variables work.

The best advice I got from this video is to START the problem ! Its 100% relatable that when I try to push my limits and question is little big and complicated in competitive programming I don't even complete reading the problem and leave it halfway.

1. Start- sit down and thoroughly read the
2. Write down what you know (even if arbitrary) + draw pictures/ diagrams if it helps
3. Write down what you know in mathematical statements
4. Write the logical conclusions
5. What was the question? Read again
6. Solve the problem

i live in iran and we have a test exam for university that whole contry compete in it ... and we should solve semi advance math / physics and ... problems in averge 2 or 1 minute ... i think this technique takes a lot of time ...
