This is a jam packed portion of 1 Corinthians. We are called, as believers and followers of Christ Jesus, to live set apart, holy, and sanctified lives. We can only do this by walking in the Holy Spirit. If you are single, you are to avoid the scenarios that can lead to premarital sex. If you are married, be faithful to your spouse and do not break the covenant you made. For the same-sex attracted, you are to abstain from engaging in homosexual relationships. For everyone, we should avoid anything that arouses: books, movies, tv, music, pornography. We are called to sexual purity in every way. I love 1 Corinthians 7. It provides good advice for both married and single people. As a single woman, it really encourages me, and I must say that it has freed me up to pursue the Lord unhindered. I know that this is not everyone's calling, but I am so thankful that God's word speaks on this. If you are married, you are blessed. If you are single, you are also blessed.

"Freedom in Christ is not freedom to sin. Freedom in Christ is freedom from sin." Yes and Amen!

We all are infected and affected by sin. Praise God for sending Jesus to free us from this disease that we couldn’t overcome.

Oof! What a powerful visual re: the Spirit living inside us! If we sin, we are FORCING Him to take part in it and forcing someone to do something they don’t want to do…”there’s a word for that”. So powerful!

I think the essence of today’s passage is humility, putting our spouse’s needs ahead of our own, and not even considering our bodies as belonging to ourselves, but God (1 Cor 6:19).

Amen! A lot of these teachings are so needed today, especially what grace truly means. It is not an excuse to keep on living in sin. Praise the Lord we can be free from sin!! 🙌

I’m grateful TBR is available in so many ways. I am from DFW area, but will be heading to another state to assist my Mom in the new year. Praise God, her church ‘s women are beginning TBR on January 1st. I will be able to attend the weekly meeting as well as embark on my third chronological reading of God’s Word. Thank you, TLC and TBR for being used by God. Merry Christmas!

What a powerful and packed passage today. I find these chapters in 1 Corinthians relevant in our churches even now. So many people want personal salvation for the sake of themselves, then want to live life with no true apparent difference or change. God’s adoption of us changes us; it doesn’t gives us a free pass to live life however we want and then ask for absolution.

TLC, I like several things you said today. Here are three:

"Anything that lets us continue in sin unchecked and carefree isn't grace - it's passive wrath."

"[Paul] tells the church how to respond to those in the church who walk in active rebellion against God's call for sexual integrity - _not those who struggle to do it but those who refuse._ There's a big difference."

In [1 Corinthians 5:9-10], Paul lists the types of people who won't inherit the Kingdom. It's a scary list because we've all been on it at least once."

Thank you for the Bible Recap! God bless! 😊

“So if what I eat causes another believer to sin, I will never eat meat again as long as I live—for I don’t want to cause another believer to stumble.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭8‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I love this verse because it explores Paul’s extreme selflessness and humility; furthermore to me it highlights the humility and selflessness we should try to embody, not saying we can even come close to Paul’s or Jesus’s selflessness; however we can still try and I think it’s important to do so God bless y’all today ✝️💪.

1 Cor 8:1, ... "knowledge puffs up while love builds up." This reminds me of the prayer before we read that knowledge would not puff us up but serve to help us love God and others more. 🙏🏽

I Cor 8:3, ..."Whoever loves God is known by God." Oh to be known by God- truly known- He is the only one who can and does. I am so thankful for this- how He knows me and still loves me. ❤️

Aloha, praise the Lord and goo afternoon BR family. Wow! This was an amazing reading today. Since I started the BR Plan every day, I learned something new. All of Paul’s preaching today was new to me. God is the Alpha and Omega. In 8:6, "But to us there is but one God, the Father of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus by all things, and we by him". He is where the JOY is!!!!

I am getting ready to turn 56 and including God in everything I do in life, the better I accept things (good and bad) that happen with me and others, and it makes everything that is brought into my (and others) lives a lot more easier to navigate through. It makes me more thoughtful, grateful, forgiving, thankful, and how much more I value friends and family. We all
Need someone in this living earth to get through things that happen in the flesh, so accept him, love him, give your life to him and you will not believe what he can make happen to you. Love and prayers. ❤️🙏🏼
