I use my credit card like my debit card - don’t spend what you don’t have, and I set it on autopay. Been using credit card for 15+ years now and never pay a dime of interest. I get back at least a couple grand in cash back though if not more.

So true I missed out on 10 years of credit building because I was always told not to get a credit card.

First card had a 250 limit had it for emergencies in college. My buddy got one and wracked up 10000 in debt before he dropped out. Just be really careful.

Credit card is helpful especially in case of emergency. Safer too compare to bringing a lot of cash.

All my life I heard, “It’s best you just stick to debit or cash… you don’t want that 19.99% weighing you down.” I regretfully listened 🤦

As someone on my way to building my credit I find this advice great. I think the biggest pitfalls with credit cards is just spending in your means and keeping track of spending. My parents have taught me to not finance or buy anything on credit I wouldn’t already have the cash for upfront.

Took me a long time to get a card, because people kept saying shit like this! Since I got it, I have never been more happier. I’m never broke or in debt anymore

Keep speaking that truth. Credit cards are not bad and can be useful if you used them wisely.

While in school, it's been great to have one. Paying a little bit extra to be able to furnish my home and buy a washer and dryer, and most larger purchases has a 0% for 12 months option. It's been a godsend tbh. I wouldn't be living this way if not for them, and I wouldn't have been able to use my rewards for gifts for my family and treats for myself. Only a few months from being debt free totally. :)

This is 100% true for people who are able to pay their monthly balance in full and can resist using credit increases to finance larger purchases that they can't afford. For those people, the temptation of credit might actually be a bad idea. But for people who can use credit in this specific way, yes, I agree that Cuban's advice is unhelpful.
