Join us on the fastest Japanese Bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka (Shinkansen Nozomi) in Green Class. We had the best time on this 2 and half hour ride from Tokyo Station to Shin Osaka Station. The Nozomi train is on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line. We decided to take the Nozomi train instead of the Hakari or the Kodama. We hope you enjoy the ride as much as we did. We have loved riding on the trains in Japan.

Watching the smoothness, timeliness, and cleanliness of this train was so satisfying.

When using the flip side of foot rests it’s customary to remove shoes. Nice video and enjoy you stay in Japan.

When I was in the navy in 1967 we were in the china sea off Vietnam. We went to Yokuska Japan for RR. A lot of the guys just wanter to go on shore and drink. A bunch of us got together to ride the built train. We went to the train station in Yokuska but found out that the bullet train ran from Tokyo, we south of Tokyo. So we caught the train and went to Tokyo. when we got there we found that the Bullet train ran north from Tokyo. We only had the day to get back to our ship so we toured Tokyo and then went back to our ship on the train. Thanks for giving me chance to ride an even faster train than I missed when I was there. Great video.😁😁

We were in Japan two weeks ago. Took the train to Sapporo in Hokkaido. Four hours on the Shinkansen, followed by four hours on conventional train. Just booked regular seats, not Green Car, after reading reviews. Seats are all reserved, in three / three configuration. No carpet on the floor, no footrest, but perfectly comfortable. We bought food at the railway station and ate on the train. Express train a lot slower, very comfortable and scenic. Enjoyed both the experiences and would love to do more. All trains in Japan are quiet..even on the subway.

I was just thinking earlier today of how I missed Okinawa, Japan. I live there in the 80’s and I’ve never forgotten the experience I had.

Japan is a heavy fault zone and they do an amazing job maintaining the bullet trains. It makes me wonder why we still don’t have these trains going from LA to Vegas. Great video. Japan is a cool destination.

Great report. Sounds like you really did your homework. The nice thing about the green car besides having bigger seats and more room is that often it's as empty as yours was. Sometimes you can be the only one in the entire car. The regular cars, even reserved cars, are often packed with noisy tourists. The shelf on the window can be used to put your drinks on. The shinkansen is so smooth they won't slide or tip over.

This was very interesting to see. You are both so lucky to be able to do things like this.

In 1967 and even today when I watch Japanese train videos You never see any litter or trash anywhere. Not like America.

The contrast with Amtrak must have been jarring. We're just back from our US trip and quickly realised why they have these striped red poles to hold onto between the cars. Travelling on the regional express from DC - Philly at 125mph was quite alarming. Everything rattled and shook and we were quite relieved to arrive in one piece! Great video!

Thanks for doing this video on your channel. I have traveled to Japan with my family many times. I am glad you explained the differences with the JR passes and that the Nozomi trains are not included but can be taken with an additional fee. My last trip to Japan I opted for the Green JR Pass and will continue to use it on my future trips to Japan. One other point of the Japanese trains besides punctuality, is the cleanliness of the trains. Unfortunately, Amtrak needs improvements in both categories.
