If someone leaves their clothes in the washer I remove them and put them on top of another machine. It is rude to go off and not come back and check on your clothes. They know people are waiting.

In the UK, you go against the Foreign Office's advice to travel you're likely to null and void your travel insurance

I agree with that mother. Going to a red alert area is ridiculous.

I think that if she’s a US citizen and the US is saying don’t travel to Haiti then she should be able to follow the guidelines of her country of residence/citizen

I don't usually think that the cruise line owes anything for port changes, but in this particular case where there is a Level 4 warning and they made the change on such short notice, I think they should offer the choice to switch to a different cruise without penalty. Personally, I love Labadee and would have no issue going there right now but I can understand that everyone has a different risk tolerance.

Hey, if someone leaves their laundry in the washer or dryer, i just move it out and leave it on top of a machine. If your wash is available to be seen or your laundry gets wrinkled, get there to retrieve it on time!

I can see Kramer on a cruise taking it on himself to volunteer to be a laundry supervisor. Now that would be a fun episode!

If the government puts out a travel advisory then I feel the cruise line should honor a request for a refund. Because if anything happens to those passengers because of their choice to stop there would make them liable for huge lawsuits.

Future cruise credit so she can book another cruise. It's not her fault that the itinerary was changed and I think she has legitimate concerns.

Currently on Sky Princess transatlantic cruise, so laundry is essential. A lady came in a while after her dryer stopped and said "They better not have touched my stuff." The laudrette is a scary place. I stayed in the hot steamy place for 1 1/2 hours to protect my clothes and my place in line. 😢 But, I made some new friends as well.😊 A sign with laundrette courtesies would be helpful.

I was on that Symphony sailing and despite being upset with the last minute itinerary change, i still enjoyed the ports we went to. I do feel that Royal owes its customers some form of compensation for such a drastic change of plans especially when they sold tickets for an itinerary that they already knew would not be possible. The pier damage in San Juan happend a while ago, our itinerary change was annouced 24- 48 hours before sailing.

you do the same thing that you do in a laundry mat on land. You take them out and pile them on the counter

The contract the cruise line has you sign is absolutely ridiculous. But we sign it anyway. According to the contract, the cruise line is responsible for NOTHING.

Labadee is safe, being 9 hr drive over treacherous rd from the unrest.

The last time I went to Labadie, I was taken by the hand and pulled up a hill to go to another village to go shopping and no matter how hard I pulled back I could not escape fortunately other passengers saw my flight and helped me I would never go to Labadie again

Apparently this is due to technical issues in San Juan pier that the changes have been made to include going to Haiti.

We were just on Grandeur of the Seas and were in Labadee. It was great as usual. If you're worried, stay home or stay on the ship.

This one is on RC. They change a port/country to one that's under a travel advisory. People should be able to get their money back when a company does something like that.

Tony, I am a USPS Mail Carrier here in Wellington, Florida and know of this family. They are “drama queens” and their concerns over what happened amount to nothing more than “sour grapes” because they were not able to visit their native Port in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They specifically booked this Cruise for their daughter’s sixteenth birthday where they would visit their family and roots in San Juan. Once Royal Caribbean cancelled San Juan and replaced it with Labadee, Mom used the Haiti situation as a lame excuse. I can also bet You good money that this family did not purchase Cruise Insurance through Royal Caribbean which at minimum would have offered “cancel for any reason” coverage which would have enabled them to obtain future cruise credit. The fact that they are obviously “Cruise rookies” who have no knowledge as to how Cruise contracts work in addition to the fact that they likely did not purchase the Cruise insurance through Royal Caribbean shows You that they do not have their “house” in order when planning vacations.

People that leave their clothes in laundry equipment over 15 min of me waiting for their return. I will move cloths to a nearby cart or folding table. Do not be rude people, monitor your property.
