The detail of the Sternritter being in the shadows through the whole ending is really nice

The 1st ending heavily focused on the Soul Reapers, while the 2nd ending focused more on the Quincies. I love those parallels

I love the obvious depiction of the Quincies living in the Shinigami's shadows but also the emotional content: being defeated and humiliated and pushed to the brink of extinction, they're jealous of those Shinigami that get to live in the light of day while they're resigned to the darkness, the corners where the Shinigami don't look for them. An interesting depiction of the way a persecuted people feel

This is not what I was expecting but I dig it. Portraying the Stern Ritter as having been hiding in the shadows all this time, metaphorically and literally, is just a very cool and creepy touch.

As a side note I also think it's a testament to Kubo as an artist that even in shadows, pretty much all of them have a unique silhouette and distinguishing characteristics (the spikes on As Nodt, the star on Mask's forehead, etc)

i can't describe how cinematic this episode felt, watching this episode in pitch black, under my bed, with noise cancelling headphones in 4k, felt like a roller coaster. they really weren't lying when they said that the animation would surpass cour 1, bravo pierrot, bravo!! 👏
