What’s the best way to get sales?

The best way to get sales is to be consistent. You can do this by consistently posting on your social media, answering customer messages and emails, and making your designs consistent.

The best way for me to get sales was persistently promoting my store on my social media, especially Instagram. And also, I was running a lot of promo discounts on my store, so it was attracting a lot of the audience.

How do you generate traffic to your store?

I generate traffic to my store by posting daily on Instagram. I like to post something positive or ask a question to stir interest, and try to connect with people in a way that makes them want to click on my shop link.

I generate traffic to my store exclusively with the power of my Instagram profile. I’ve learned as long as I post regular content, the engagement and sales grow. Instagram is the handiest because of its structure, and so a lot of different social networks can work.

The best way that I generate traffic to my store is through social media. Unfortunately, I would love to not have to use it, but it is 87% of the traffic that I get to my website. So I mostly invest time in Instagram, and I’ve started to try to grow my Pinterest a little bit more.

I suggest setting your Instagram to a Business profile instead of a Personal one because you have more access to some insights and it will track the best times for you to post during the day.

How do you price your products? What is a good profit margin for POD products?

I price my products by keeping in mind wholesale pricing, which is typically 50% of retail pricing, and make sure that at least some of my products can be priced accordingly. You don’t want a price so low that you’re closing the door on other opportunities, such as wholesale to a local brick-and-mortar shop.
You also need to keep in mind that if you’re choosing a profit margin of, say, $5 on Printful, that may sound great, but actually you’ll be making much less with all the other fees that are taken out. Such as with Etsy.

My profit margin for print-on-demand products is approximately 30 to 40%, and, depending on the products, I think it’s the best price-quality ratio for the customer. So anything more expensive will maybe drive the customers away and then getting cheaper might not give you your desired profit.
