Glad everyone made it out safely. This reminds me of back in 2019 when Dale Ernhardt Jr was in a Cessna Citation that had a landing gear collapse that resulted in the plane being lost by fire consumption. That one was determined by the NTSB to be pilot error. I will be awaiting the preliminary report on this accident. Keep up the good work.

It’s a new makeover color called AARF Charcoal Gray. So happy everyone is safe and sorry about losing the Citation.

Love your channel brother. You do a great job with your pictures, explanations, and illustrations. I’m a fellow ARFF firefighter as well and looking at what we see with this scene, this aircraft appears to be all the way on the departure end thresholds. I’m curious to know if he could have had some kind of hydraulic leak in the landing gear area or hot brakes that caused some type of ignition upon landing and rolling out. Please update us if you find out anything additional. Great explanation of FAR 139. It’s good for followers to have an understanding of our response criteria. Hopefully, this incident will allow for this airport to consider hiring at least one more firefighter per shift. Fortunately no one was injured or killed. Keep up the great work brother and I hope to meet you some day. If you ever get the opportunity to attend an ARFF working group conference, you will love it.

Hate to be "That Guy", but the Citation landing gear is the most reliable landing gear with redundant means of getting it DOWN! I would bet "someone" simply forgot to put it down, especially if it was being flown single pilot which the smaller Citations are certified for single pilot operation. Glad no one was hurt!

I flew into Chehalis CLS once (the starting point for this flight), won't go back unless I've got a good reason. The runway is in good condition but unlevel between concrete slabs which is very uncomfortable in a Mooney. Hard on the gear.... but he most likely forgot to put em down. That is a short flight in a Citation, maybe 30 minutes or less and that alone makes a complex aircraft challenging. You barely have time to cleanup the aircraft after takeoff just to begin the approach and landing checklists.

Did the gear collapse upon touchdown? Or was it a gear up landing?

The research you do is very nice. Love the before and after pictures as well as the satellite imagry of the area! What made you want to start covering aviation incidents?

All 3 gear failed? At the same time? Odd. I question if the gear was ever put down.

So we have 2 arff trucks. One for responses the other is a back up. Pasco fire has two arff firefighters, and 4 stations. It was an alert 3, burning when we arrived. Pasco fire covers the port so we had outside agencies. Crazy day

All right, I did deliver new Cessna Jets years ago XLS, affiliated a little bit with the CJ series. They are very well established model, never heard of a gear failure like this to me it looks like somebody somehow might have Hit the gear lever and activated it. It's going to be interesting to see the cause. There is a fire extinguisher on board so maybe some effort could have been made. They also have a skid strip in the center to help with a gear up landing.

It looks like they had a tanker as the resupply point, with mutual aid trucks running the resupply to the tanker. Also it looks like they had to worry about a wildland fire as the brush is so dry, so they would be looking for a fire extension to the areas downwind from the point of final resting point of the aircraft.

Good thing everyone got out safely. Too bad the aircraft is a total loss. The jet took off from Chehalis, Washington which is about half way between Seattle and Portland. That jet makes daily flights from Chehalis. Well at least it did.

It would be interesting to know if the landing gear failed on touch down due to it not being locked into position or if it simply did not extend - Thank you as always 🙏
