Earthquake at Summit Hotel Kathmandu 2015

The Summit Hotel Kathmandu was hosting a party for a few kids when the Nepal Earthquake hit the region. The quake caused the party to be flooded and scared a few of the party goers. Thankfully everyone was safe and not injured.

A guy who used to go to my school was on his gap year on holiday (a year when you go on holiday after coming out of school) on Mount Everest was buried for like 4 days under an avalanche caused by this but managed to survive. I feel so sorry for the 8000+ people who weren't so lucky.

They were celebrating kings day. A national holiday in the netherlands which was the same day as the earthquake (also explains the people selling stuff and why they were wearing orange).
