I'm an older lady, and I remember growing up in Canada with little to no spices in my food. Now, I can't live without it! Spices make everything better. My friends all love spices and hot sauces, too.

The two main bagel shops in Montreal are open 24/7 I'm not a big sweet fan but when possible I always add a touch of maple syrup or maple sugar

My mother's recipe for Tourtiere was chicken, pork, rabbit and/or pheasant and/or partridge. The wild meats all depended on how I did hunting, we always had rabbit available, I could get those without even leaving our 2 acre property, but the pheasant and partridge were never guaranteed (we tried duck once, but found it to make the pie to oily). Another difference from what I see in the video is ours was served with gravy.

My favourite Beaver Tail is the basic one with just cinnamon and sugar. A Beaver Tail and a Hot Chocolate on a cold day - nothing better. If you come to the Prairies, you have to try Perogies and Prairie Oysters. Mom used to bake Toffee Tarts for Christmas. She'd melt down MacIntosh's Toffee Bars in a double boiler with cream and then pour the melted toffee into pre-baked tart shells. From there they went into the fridge to harden. Also, when you come up to Canada be sure to buy some maple butter. It is delicious on hot raisin toast. If you like sweets, look into Peace by Chocolate and have some delivered by courier. You won't be disappointed.

In Toronto, the basic go-to snack, available in thousands of shops and corner stores, is the Jamaican Pattie. Many local firms compete to produce them. And yes, most Torontonians want them fairly spicy, though mild ones are available for the timid. They began to show up in the city in the early 1970's, with a large wave of Caribbean immigrants, and soon everyone became addicted to them. Patties, "doubles", jerk chicken and strong ginger beer are very Torontonian things.

Nova Scotian boy here, oh yea bud we like our spices. A lot of the old British trade spices in particular, considering our shared histories with the ol’ Union Jack

Gravy of chips ( French fries) some of the food I'd try for sure. Not long back from South Korea and their street food is outstanding. I have to say my favorite food is Indian closely followed by west Indian. Its hard to beat Jamaican jerk chicken with some rice and pea

You can have a delicious caesar without alcohol. I prefer it that way myself. My favourite addition is the juice from pickled jalapenos.

I am 21 and I have been living in Montreal my whole life, I have eaten most of the stuff there, the Bloody Ceasar is a no for me since I am allergic to fish and it's said to have some in one of the ingredients.

It's me that sent you the maple syrup. Now I'm thinking about sending you a butter tart and nanaimo bar.

Yea... I have always found American food very bland. Like, wet cardboard at times.
