New Google Drive for Desktop - Coming Soon

A new update to how Google Drive functions are coming to Beta soon. Google Drive for Desktop was announced by Google to create a more user-friendly experience. Damson Cloud’s Fintan Murphy discusses the upcoming Google Drive solution that is going to change how sync tools are used. Users may be familiar with the backup and sync tool or might use the Google Drive File Stream tool if they are business customers. To finesse the user experience, Google is unifying these tools into the Google Drive for Desktop Sync tool - great news for anyone who regularly uses both.

Hi! The video is good, but you can actually make a habit to add all those links in your description box as well. Ex. Google form link, because it's not exist in your blog as well. Also you could add the Google's official FAQ sections related to this.

what happens if my OS is corupted. Can I recover all files from Virtual Drive on a disk drive without downloading from the cloud. ???

I've just started checking out the tool which is now called google drive for desktop. and while you can not copy files directly on to it yet what I can do as a work around is upload them from google drive on the web instead as I also use dropbox on the same computer. for me this is a pretty good thing as dropbox, onedrive, and icloud provide rediculously low storage starters compared to googles 15gb basic plan so its a no brainer.
being able to have a google drive volume mounted on my mac is awesome but the only frustration I had was setting it up as my mac asked me to restart a total of 3 times. and that is a mac OS big sur problem, not a google drive problem

Can I place a Google Doc file/alias at any location on my Mac? I don't want the content from my Drive contained in one single folder on MacOS?

I have to sign in to my account everytime I want to sign in.. is there a solution for this

No. Just No.
I already have Google Backup and Sync. Just keep that working and I'm okay.
I'm not going to waste time and space on yet another app I don't need.
(Especially not if that new app isn't native.)
