Been a cop in a pretty good size city. I’ve had two paranormal encounters. First one was several of us responded to a burglary alarm. The pastor of the church got there negus and said he saw someone inside but only. We make announcements and go in. We clear the entire church and get to a room that is locked. We give more announcements and we all heard someone say “I’m coming out” after a minute or two no one comes out and there is no further communication. I checked the door and now it’s unlocked. We make entry and the room is small. It’s a closet with a water heater and solid walls, floors and ceiling. The second was we were clearing an old hotel that has had ghost sightings dating back to the 30’s but the hotel is abandoned now so kids often sneak in. Myself and another officer reach a room that is locked, he stays on the room and I press past and clear a few small rooms. I come back and we hear laughing in the room but we get no response on commands. My partner and I choose to make entry and breach the door then go in after announcement. No one was in the room and then we start to hear laughter in the hallway. We left the building because neither of us white boys were going to be that one that “just wanted to see what that was”. We’ve had numerous officers clear that hotel and something weird or unexplained always happens when we go in.

It’s amazing that the house searched by the cops is lived in by a husband and wife and their 2 kids and there is no clothes hanging in any of the closets. Just empty hangers.

As a former PO for 10 years, I can’t even get through the video of the house being searched. It all seems fake. First, you don’t want your blue/red lights on at a scene like this. You also need to stay with your partner when searching a location. Clear the house as a team. You definitely aren’t going to hold a gun and flashlight in this manner. I also say turn on the lights, it will allow you to see more. A flashlight only limits what you point it at.
I did experience a supernatural event, at an abandoned house, located next to a Civil War battlefield. The area was a military base in the early 1900’s.

Everyone who got problem with the police not turning on the lights its because the flashlight is powerful enough to blinding the possible suspect so they got less chance to get hit by a bullet. Hold the flashlight to your face in the dark room and see what can you see behind the flashlight in the room.

I was stationed on Okinawa in 1973. The base area was a battlefield with trenches, bunkers and mines. I would sit on old stone steps in the village outside our base at night. I would watch Japanese ghost soldiers walking down the path like they were on patrol. They were nearly transparent. You have to sit still to see them.

I hate to disappoint all the naysayers but as a retired cop I can tell you some officers prefer to search buildings and homes with the lights off only using their flashlights. Others turn on every light in the place. I was the latter. There is no hard and fast rule, unless the department you’re working for has an S.O.P. for it.

Could not have been a cop. A cop would have stopped...not back away in fright. He also would have called, or have dispatch, call paramedics.

Just a side note. At the 1:15 minute mark, the “cop” is executing the harris technique totally wrong. The harris Technique refers to the way of holding the flashlight in one hand and spouse it to the firing hand. But this “cop” is doing it totally wrong. I wonder where or if this individual received any training whatsoever. Horrible, crappy, non existent technique.

You guys wanna see real ghosts? Nursing homes imo are the best place to see a ghost, although just showing up for no reason other than "i wanna see a ghost" will probably get the cops called on you. I deliver medicine to nursing homes in bulk, had many experiences in several nursing homes all over my state. One that stands out to me is walking up to the airlock doors (2 doors 1 outside 1 inside) i opened the 1st door and saw a shadow move across the window, it was a big open room very well lit with flourescent lighting with a break room to the right, i knocked and no one answered, i called and only 1 nurse and 2 cnas were working the residents were sleeping since it was past midnight, i told the nurse i tried to get the other persons attention but they walked away, she said "what person" the shadow went from left to right as if going towards the break room i looked into the doorway and no one was in there. I asked her if someone might've been in the room before i got there but she had come from her desk and the other 2 girls were way across on the other side of the building. I really thought it was a person, but it was a shadow of what looked like a person, which didnt make any sense because of how well lit the room was.
