Welcome to part 3 of our Troopy build! In this episode, we take a deep dive into creating a subfloor in the cargo area of the vehicle. This floor will essentially be the back bone of the entire interior build out and will consist of many different materials. Insulation is also a big factor when it comes to walls and floors in a vehicle similar to the inside of a house. Come along with us as we build our tiny home on wheels!

The gunk you guys were scraping off inside the cavities is called cavity wax and stops rust. It’s good stuff, ideally you would leave that on and put the insulation over the top. The only problem with insulation is that it can trap moisture underneath so the cavity wax is to stop that. I’m enjoying your build videos! Gday from Yallingup Western Australia

really nice build, seems like a lot of weight for just a floor though, all the sound insulation, bedliner and 3/4 ply. Don't really think there's a lighter way to have a proper floor you can screw things down on though.

That closed cell foam layer is the same as dynaliner. Dynaliner can be had up to 1/2” thick .
