Hi rob.. I love this setup, I am looking at doing one almost identical. I realise its a show car but most of what you have is how id have it. Maybe change the location of the gull windows and paint them differently and like that Simon guy said probably change the bench tops, add solar capability, a shower and hot water system attached to one of the gull wings, put in an awning tent thing for the shower/shitter add another wheel holder and maybe some facility to carry a bike, A sound system, maxtrack/table combo a console for the cab and some more in cab storage/ cup holder things, make it so the day bed thing slides out so two can sleep on it in stealth mode if i have to with roof down in towns etc and thats pretty much it. I actually don't want the inside too full of sliding drawers and all that crap like some troopy setups have, I want to be able to use that space for living and have the storage out of the way so I can sit inside and look out without feeling too claustrophobic or boxed in.

One thing I wish the alucabs had was the ability to raise the roof after driving from the inside without having to go outside. If its pissing down or lots of flies or whatever its nice to be able to just slip into the back via the cab. I can't see this functionality in these roofs.. seems like a pretty easy mod to make to the design at the factory stage. Also how much weight can the roofs take and still be lifted up and used at the same time?

Also I have read a few posts online where some of the welds in the roof were cracking at the gussets or other stress points.. how long are these weaknesses covered for, has the design been changed to improve this if indeed there is a pattern of this happening? (Not saying there is btw.. I know random things can happen like this)

There was one in Old Bar today brand new, same colour with the alu conversion, driven by a young bloke and his GF on his Ps. Looked great. The wife said let’s get one. Seeds been set.

Hey from April 2022. And ok, I get this. My preference is for tents, camping etc, but this looks super handy. So long as you aren't making those troopies like a combi camper circa 1970 and floppy AF.
