The Corpse of King Minos’s lore mentions that traces of his soul remain in his body, and seeing as Minos Prime is mentioned it’s safe for me to assume that We’re fighting Minos’s soul instead of his corpse.

The way this theme comes across to me is that it's a representation of mino's anguish. The innocent melody of his utopian dream swallowed up and broken by the angels and the flesh prision that now entombs him, forced to watch helplessly as his own corpse tramples what's left of it

This song represents the anguish of the damned human souls of this game to me. Stripped of all sentience and personality, with Minos, the last person who dared attempt to save them, banished to a hell-within-hell forevermore.
