What I thought Warrior Cats looked like VS what they actually look like

I’ve been seeing this EVERYWHERE, and I think it’s an old trend, but because I’ve been getting deeper into the fandom, I wanted to try it :)

The fact that what you thought spotted leaf looked like is way prettier than the actual cat is amazing

Cinderpelt: your original thoughts looked more like Cinderheart

Redtail: Actually looks really good and would make a very interesting and unique design for him

Spottedleaf: Again would work as a design for her

I always thought of spottedleaf as a copper-brown color with rosette spots, since in the first book it mentioned she had a tortoise-shelled pattern

I thought the same thing about spottedleaf tbh. Most of the torties I saw as a kid were mostly white with the splotches small and spread out so that's how i always imagined her :(

To be fair Redtail having mainly white fur DOES make his tail stand out far more so it works as a design quite a bit- (because warriors doesn’t care about nature accuracy so why bother 🤣)

OK but redtail as he is described in the books looks so cool! All fluffy and such gorgeous copper/rust/ginger/brown tones

I didn’t know what tortoiseshell meant so for spotted leaf I imagined her being greyish brown with a dappled (kinda bengal like) pelt that was like the patterning on a tortoises shell

I thought some of this too!
For Cinderpaw/pelt I thought she was similar to what you thought, just a bit more gray/grey.
For Redtail that’s how I imagined him, just with more orange & red splotches.
For Spottedleaf I thought she was brown with slightly lighter brown spots.

I actually really like the Redtail design you had. I feel like his canon design looks too close to Sol. Spottedleaf is also really pretty, but that design works good on any of the tortoiseshell cats. Your design for Cinderpelt I think would work better as Dovewing.

But that doesn't mean any of these are bad. They all look really nice!

I-its been years and up until now I still imagined Spottedleaf more or less like your design. Somehow it fits her better imo.

And just a funfact, I always thought Brindleface was a Calico She-Cat, because in the language I read the books in, her name literally translates to Colourfulface. So that's that lol.

I absolutely love the designs and art! And I really love Spottedleafs, before and after. And the way you made the markings in the "What she really looks like" was something I wouldn't have been able to do. (Hopefully you know what I mean by the markings)

Your Cinderpaw/pelt design is actually so extremely pretty, kinda wish she looked like that, While the dark pelt fits her, your design is just soo extremely beautiful and actually does give me Cinderpelt vibes
