Today we tour Stockholm trying the best food the city has to offer. We arranged a food tour of Stockholm Sweden and it was wonderful. We tried everything from Bear Meat to Shrimp toast. Also, the world tour hot dog challenge continues with the most unusual hot dog we have tried.

Here is the first food hall: Ostermalms Food Hall

Here is the second food hall with the great shrimp toast and licorice:

Where we had the cinnamon roll and our Fika, Grill Skahuset:

We had the Fish Hot Dog at Bröd & Salt on the waterfront

Happy to hear you enjoyed visiting my home town, Stockholm!
I just love watching non-Scandinavians try licorice with salmiak! It's so funny!
Salmiak is the "salt", it's not ordinary table salt (Sodium chloride), but ammonium chloride.
Yeah, it's really an aquired taste, I really like it

Im glad you enjoyed Stockholm. The Mushroom had payphones around its "stem" before, but payphones disappeared many years ago. So now it is just a big mushroom left.

Have to admit loving my Icelandic salt licorice but it was not the saltiest and I ate it in tiny bites. One of our favorite excursions is a food tour with a local.

Toast Skagen (the shrimp toast) is a classic, love it. It's easy to make to.

I am so not brave enough to try all the foods that you both tried along the way! But it was interesting to follow along. Great video, thank you! 😁

Having a hamburger with shrimp salad has been a classic at Sibylla since the 1970s. It's called superstar with shrimp salad and has been on the menu for as long as I can remember.

Been looking forward to this video ever since Mike teased the hot dog in the previous one.

Shrimp salad is often eaten together with sausage and mashed potatoes wrapped in bread or as you had it, on top of the sausage.

Aquavit is a flavored liqueur made from grain or potatoes, usually containing cumin, dill, anis, and fänkål. Many different variants exist in herb/spice vise, and how they are stored. Very popular during Scandinavian holidays like midsummer, crayfish season, new year etc.

The salt covrered licorice is salmiak (ammonium chloride), which is on the rise of actually becoming the sitxth basic flavor. Salmiak is humongous in Scandinavia, Germany and the Netherlands. It sure is a palate divider just like Marmite and Vegemite. I llloooove salmiak and have a jar of it I dip dates in. I'm glad you enjoyed the food. Do try the svenska nubbar with fatty fish, or creamy food. We use it at feasts like Midsummer's, Crayfish festival, and Surströmming happenings as well. It really should be accompanied with a nubbe song, but no pressure... 😅
As for "fee-ka" (not "ficka" which means "pocket" in Swedish) I' m team cardamon roll, and the hot dog really should have been a "tunnbrödsrulle" which is a couple of thin hot dogs stuffed down a soft wheat tortilla type wrap (tunnbröd=thin bread) along with mashed potatoes, relish, and shrimp salad. A classic people eat after a night on the town waiting for the bus or subway back home. You only scratched the surfa e, so do come back if you get the chance. Great video.
