Phoebe is back! Kyoto is just the greatest place, and is my favourite Japanese city. Going back there next May, so thanks Phoebe for this taster (yes pun intended, 😂 Kyoto is more than food, though it is certainly delicious !)

Loved the video Phoebe. Brought back so many memories from my trip to Japan last century and the time we spent on the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Susono to Kyoto. Thanks 🙏

So wonderful to see the sparkle back in your eyes. Love the content. Any doubt you had in your ability to produce professional videos should be totally put to bed. Also love the addition of James.

“The plan for tonight is just go out, have fun, good food, love life.” You certainly did that and then some! You have given me a permanent life plan.
Phoebe…100k subs soon coming! All of your hard work over these years coming to a big milestone. what you love and then finding in yourself (especially during these past few extremely difficult months) the artistry and talent and confidence. It’s so admirable.
I’ll write my usual more detailed thoughts on this vid later today (I’ve gotta go right now), but I wanted to send a quick convrats. I’ll be smiling all day, but not as big as your smile was throughout that whole video!
Have a great night, my friend, and we’ll chat in the comments later! Rob

Loving this one! You are really nailing the editing. Such a fascinating looking country too, with very much it's own vibe and new things to be experienced.

Kyoto is such a beautiful place, rich in history and culture. I’d go back there in a jiffy

1st of all, congrats on reaching 100K subscribers. Also, yes you definitely need more time in Kyoto. But, you stayed there 1 day longer than me. I went there in 2014 and only stayed overnight. Wish I could have stayed longer. I did stay in a capsule hotel like you and liked the experience, although I stayed in July and it was really humid. Nice little summary of your 2 days there. And wow, you looked so pretty in the Kimono 😍

Hiya! Shinskansen is superior! When I was traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto they even excused themselves for being 17 seconds late. As if anyone would’ve noticed. Kyoto has so much to offer, we just had one day so we visited Kinkaku-ji and it was incredibly beautiful, it’s not featured in this video so I recommend to do that next time you’re in Kyoto, believe me it’s worth it. Is that capsule hotel like a hostel or is it a real hotel? Because it really looks like a fancy hostel and I’ve seen hostels with pods/capsules before. Hey Phoebe, regarding the lens, size doesn’t matter, it’s the content that does 🫶. I love that dress, looks Japanese ❤. Miso soup is my favorite soup ever 🥵. Thanks for sharing your Kyoto tips and have a great week ahead 🤙

Thank you for touring Kyoto! I went there 11 years ago and loved it. This October, I will be moving to Kyoto for school, where I will be living there for at least the next 2 years or so. I'm looking forward to it and to see how much the city has changed within the last 10+ years.

Ok..."Rob's Review" as promised 🤣
* Still dig the quick intro of what's to come. (However, as a whisky aficionado, and a lover of Suntory...what was that drink?!?! We never find out!).
* In 15 seconds, you effectively describe why anyone visiting Japan should get the JR Train Pass and how to do it with Klook. Perfect.
* Ok...the music...ever since these videos have become yours alone, your music selections have encapsulated how you were feeling during your journey or your trips. This Japan series is no exception--happy, bouncy, "glad to be alive" kind of music. Hard to not just dance along with you.
* Let the images show how great the bullet train is. (Not to mention how good those Bento boxes looked! Yum!)
* Wait...an Uber driver in a suit with white gloves! First class!! The heck with the bus!
* Everyone listen to James! Like and Subscribe...be the 100, 000th Sub!!
* Capsule hotel...how perfect for this journey.
* Ok, James...while I admit that your channel and the quick-shot videos are indeed fantastic...and while you *may* have a nicer camera...you don't have her amazing style! Having said that, everyone, do go to his two videos as well. Seeing Phoebe with her stuffed yellow shark is hilarious!
* Yes, Phoebe...you need merch from LGB: "The Plan is: just go out, have fun, find good food, love life!" I'm gonna use that phrase for my next trip!
* "Have fun"--puppies and kittens are always fun
* "Good food"--yakitori in Japan 😋
* "Love life"--sometimes the best days are the unplanned, "let's just go, " days, just like that evening--heck this entire Japan series so far!
* Had me a bit nervous for a moment: saw "The Next Morning" but then the music and shots kept coming. And you left the hotel! But, *whew*..."Good Morning You Guys!" 😆
* Ok...ok...ok...gotta talk about the Kimonos! WOW 🤩 I knew it was a fun thing to do in Japan, but I think now I understand just how much fun. What an incredible way to feel like you're a part of really being there. Gotta ask, though...ever feel a little...weird or uncomfortable being out in public with them? Or was it truly the pure joy that appeared on you and James' faces throughout? (also, both of you looked really good in them. I hope you forever treasure the pictures of you in it that you posted to IG!)
* I already know Japanese food is great...but you make it look so...colorful...so appetizing and delicious. Great shots! (even if James doesn't think you have a fancy enough camera 🤪)
* Except uni....I'm not a fan and was cringing watching you eat it. I saw in other comments that you are willing to try it again, but only in Japan. Perhaps that is sage advice. 'Cause here in the States...not so good. 🤢 (However...I laughed out loud when James told you what it was. The sign of a good friend to raz you after setting you up!)
* Shopping in Japan looks so amazing. Well done in just showing what is available and how the shops are arranged...no need for commentary; let the images and music do the work!
* And, speaking of work! That rickshaw guy is, indeed, buff! You got to wear traditional Japanese attire, while riding a traditional Japanese rickshaw, through the traditional old capital of Japan. Just think of how absolutely cool that is! What a life you're living!
* Were you able to get some video of your rickshaw driver talking and pointing out the sites?
* Yuzu Ramen?!?!?! OMG...I love ramen (miso is my usual favorite)...but yuzu? Oh, wow.
* Way to get a bit of *revenge* on James and catching him off-guard! (I also can't slurp my ramen. I know you're supposed to--my wife reminds me to do so all the time--but I just can't)
* Bah...you don't need to hit the "tourist" sites. It looks like y'all hit the better sites anyway!
* Excellent mix of your thoughts looking forward to Osaka while in still Kyoto while showing the quick 'previews' of what you did in Osaka! That was delightful (and the escalator shot---😂)

Phoebe--I've been watching some of your past videos a lot lately as I'm finalizing our trip to NZ and Australia next month. As you sit on the precipice of a great milestone (100k!!), I even went further back. You've come a long way and have created easily one of the best travel vlogs on YT. I've been watching a lot of other travel vlogs about Australia and NZ. A lot. And I keep going back to yours because you provide such incredible information and show people what they can really do. Because of you, I know we're gonna have the time of our lives in Auckland (I didn't know about the All Blacks Experience!) and we'll also be staying at Ceder Creek Lodge in Tamborine for a night (looking forward to a wine and charcuterie board!). I was at first intimidated in planning this trip but, we know what we want to do in NZ and in Brisbane (my wife's Gma's hometown back in the '40's). Again...all because of your videos and your inspirations.

The high production value (which is another way of saying "all of your hard work") shines through and has, at least in my opinion, gotten so much better this year. It's part of what makes your channel so much better. You've also been open and vulnerable in these videos. You've let the world into your heart, knowing it will help you heal (I think that's why we like these so much--fellow introverts here). They've become not just a journey throughout the world to be shared, but also your journey through your toughest of times. A modern day version of an autobiography. I think this is why your channel has exploded and will continue to grow--hopefully beyond even your wildest dreams.

Keep going. Keep sharing. Keep inspiring us all. And we'll see you next week in Osaka!

Rob
