ST-LINKV2, a JTAG In-Circuit Programmer-Debugger for STM8 and STM32 Microcontrollers ST-LINKV2 is an in-circuit programmer/debugger for microcontrollers of the STM8 and STM32 series by STMicroelectronics. It connects to a PC and feeds through a USB interface. The debugger is connected to the boards to be debugged through a standard JTAG/SWD interface (for microcontrollers based on the STM32 core) or through a SWIM interface (for microcontrollers of the STM8 family). The JTAG programmer has the following peculiarities: • it uses a standard ARM-compatible JTAG socket for STM32; • it supports JTAG interface with a target voltage of 1,65 -- 3,6 V; • it supports all the options of the SWIM interface including: high and low speed modes, connection according to the ERNI standard, a pin socket with a spacing of 2.54 mm, it also supports target voltages ranging from 1.65 to 5.5 V; • for in-circuit debugging of microcontrollers of the STM8 series the ST Visual Develop is used - STVD (version 4.1.0 or newer); • for in-circuit debugging of microcontrollers of the STM8 series the ST Visual Develop is used - STVD (version 4.1.0 or newer); •the following software may be used for programming and debugging STM32 ST-LINK/V2 microcontrollers: Atollic toolset TrueSTUDIO (version 1.0 or later), IAR toolset EWARM (version 5.30 or later), Keil toolset ARM-MDK (version 3.3 or later), and TASKING; • the device supports self-update mode (DFU). All the necessary software can be downloaded from the websites of the indicated companies.
