Buy magnets with a metal base and some velcro and you can convert the pockets to magnetic closure extremely cheap. It's also easy to convert back when needed.

Bought this in Nov 2024. IMPROVEMENTS: Both of the side pockets have the zippered compartment AND shell loops!

I have the LL Bean upland vest I like very much. I don’t run a dog so I don’t need a lot of extras to carry. I try to keep things simple.
This year for Quail, I tried Mission Mercantile White wing waxed lined bags. I was very happy with them. I added a water bottle holder to the belt. Extremely comfortable for Quail hunting.
