The ancients knew more about cycles and sound waves than we do now. I quite imagine that hugely massive stones fit so well is because they would attach a vibrating machine to the nodules which would cause the stones to fit themselves. We are not the first peoples to have knowledge or the most advanced for that matter. It is egotistical to think we are the ultimate.

People assume technological development goes with evolution, but that's not true. There is no reason to think we are any more intelligent, inventive or creative than our ancient ancestors, if anything as our population expands its average intelligence goes down. You only need to look at ancient Greece, what a culture, full of astronomers, mathematicians, navigators, engineers, technologists and the like. if anything has held us back in the intervening millennia its been religious dogma and superstitions, which for some reason millions still hang onto today. I will not be surprised if one day we do find evidence of technology in an ancient culture, just like this communication device.
