As a gifted kid in Highschool, I can confirm that ‘intelligence’ is not the main factor that puts us in that category. We can recognize patterns well, making us good at puzzles and math. We easily get bored and procrastinate when something is too easy or too hard, but we can hyper-fixate on our special interests. We can lack social skills 😅 Oh and a huge myth regarding GT students is that we like homework. NO! We hate homework so much!! We procrastinate so much and actually spend our time coming up with abstract ideas and/or dealing with burnout.

Those who are not Gifted, by definition, cannot understand Giftedness. Add the American anti-intellectualism and resentment toward "smart" people and the Gifted get short-changed all the time.

I got into gifted education yesterday but during testing you would kinda figure out it’s not about smartness it’s more creative thinking cuz the tests were-how a shape would look after folded and cut so yeah

But those working on Dabrowiski's overexcitability(OE) say that OEs does not imply giftedness and vis versa.I have five of them but i not gifted.Understanding OE helped me a great deal with understanding myself but...What do think?
