Stevie

Stevie ran from the sirens on October 7th in Talmei Yosef, where he was staying with friends, when Hamas attacked southern Israel. For 40 days his owner Rebecca spent every day searching for him and posting on Facebook and Whatsapp groups, driving to the Gaza envelope with posters, talking to soldiers, farmers, residents and volunteers and even consulting pet psychics and tarot readers!

When hope seemed lost, on November 12, PTROA stepped in. We organized a rescue mission and itinerary for likely places Stevie could have gone, and went down the next day with a drone to search for him in the vast desert. Although that day he didn’t make an appearance, we were thrilled two days later to receive a call from a soldier in Bnei Netzarim who had found Stevie and recognized his special tuft of hair on his head. The PTROA team turned around and immediately headed down to collect him and bring him home to mom in Tel Aviv! Here is the happy reunion!
